Joe Gibbs Racing is negotiating to remain a Chevrolet team, but team president J.D. Gibbs would not deny that his team has been approached by Toyota. It all would be settled if Joe Gibbs Racing hires Dale Earnhardt Jr. – then JGR would have to continue to field Chevrolets. JD Gibbs denies talking to Earnhardt Jr. this week, but he wouldn’t comment on whether Earnhardt Jr. and sister/business manager Kelley Earnhardt Elledge had visited his shop recently.
