DEI Asks To Much To Sell The No 8 To Hendrick

Dale Earnhardt Jr. blames his step-mother Teresa Earnhardt, the owner of Dale Earnhardt Inc., for not allowing the No. 8 to move with him to Hendrick Motorsports next season. “She either feels too personal about the number, or the rift between me and her is too personal,” Earnhardt Jr. said Saturday. “I’m not going to sit here and get personal about this. It’s upsetting as hell and unfortunate, but that’s just what happens sometimes.” Earnhardt Jr. said negotiations broke down when Teresa asked for part of the licensing revenue, along with wanting the number back after he retired. “Just ridiculous kind of requests,” Earnhardt Jr. said.

It is pretty pathetic how petty Teresa Earnhardt is. She most really think that Dale Sr. built DEI for her, when it is common knowledge among the NASCAR community that Dale Sr built that company for his children to run. Teresa just can’t let go and is soiling the Earnhardt legacy. Any good will she could have salvaged by selling the No 8 to Hendrick Motorsports just went out the window. The No 8 WILL ALWAYS be Dale Jr.’s number and any driver DEI hires will never come close to having their own identity in the No 8.

Dale Sr must be rolling over in his grave.
